We hope that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of our services.
This website is designed for both existing patients and those looking to register with us. You can download a registration form from this website.
We are a committed and well established family GP Practice based in Walthamstow. We pride ourselves in providing our patients with high standards of care in a friendly environment. We aim to achieve this by working with and for our patients and the community. We are proud to be part of the Patient Participation Group (PPG).
Our surgery team now consists of seven GP’s, one Senior Practice Nurse, one Senior HCA, one HCA, one Reception/Duty Manager managing a team of eleven Receptionists and two Administrators, one Clinical Services Manager, one Medical Secretary + one p/time Asst. Medical Administrator and one Practice Manager.
St James Medical Practice is proud to announce that due to the increase in our patient population within our Practice we have now made the following changes within the Practice to best meet our Patient’s needs & requirements.
Firstly we are pleased to announce the arrival of our new salaried GP Dr Lucy Piggin - MBBS, BSc (1st Class Hons), MRCGP, DRCOG, DFSRH which we hope will help with meeting the patient demand for appointments.
Secondly, we have recruited a further x2 Reception / Administration persons to again help and assist with the increase of incoming telephone calls and administration works. And finally we are also in the process of recruiting x2 Prescription Clerks to help manage and deliver the high demand for repeat prescription requests.
Consultations are by appointments and can be booked in person over the telephone during opening hours. A number of appointments are pre-bookable up to 4 weeks in advance and a number of appointments are available for same day appointment requests. Patients have the right to see the GP of their choice but this may cause a delay in being seen.
All new patients are offered an appointment for a New Patient Health Check (NPHC) at the point of registration.
Our telephone lines are usually very busy, therefore we would like to kindly suggest that you only telephone between 08:00 and 10:00 if you wish to make either an appointment for that day, or you are in urgent need of medical attention or you need to cancel an existing appointment. For all routine enquiries, results, administration enquiries please call after 11:00.
When booking an appointment you may be asked the nature of the call. This is purely to ensure that we direct your requirement to the appropriate person / person’s. (For example some services and requests can be processed by our Reception / Administration Team and may save you valuable time).
Consultations are by appointment and can be booked in person at the surgery, by telephone during the office hours or alternatively on-line.
We aim to see patients within 20 minutes upon arrival of their appointment and if this is not the case then an explanation will be provided. We hope you will all bear with us, as some patient’s appointments can take longer than their scheduled appointment time.
With patient’s needs at the heart of everything we do, we strive to deliver the care and support that maybe required within our community.
Access to the health centre and its consulting rooms are accessible for disabled visitors.
