Travel Insurance: Covid-19

To whom it may concern,

I am writing in response to your request for a letter regarding insurance for your holiday. This is not work that is provided on the NHS and as you will appreciate, we are under unprecedented demand at present and our capacity to do any non-NHS at this time is very limited.

If you are due to travel to an area of high risk of infection where the FCO has advised against all travel you do not need a note from your doctor.

If you have a medical condition which puts you at higher risk of complications from Covid-19 infection (for example cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and existing respiratory conditions e.g. asthma and COPD) and have decided that you do not want to travel, the surgery can provide a print-out of a brief medical summary which lists your medical conditions. However, we are unable to write bespoke letters or assess individual’s suitability for travel.

Please note that you can access your medical summary via patient access if this has been enabled for you, alternatively let us know if you would like a copy of your medical summary. Please be aware that this may take longer than usual.

You must provide an up to date UK mobile number so we can return this information to you via SMS as you will not be permitted to collect this from the practice.

We thank you for your support and consideration at this time.
